Potter Marsh is a fun place to go in Anchorage for wildlife viewings and some time spent in nature. It’s located at the southern end of the Anchorage Coastal Wildlife Refuge offering the perfect getaway from the daily grind. If you love bird watching and wildlife viewing, this is definitely the place to go near you. Take Seward Highway and right before you enter the parking lot of Potter Marsh, you’ll already have stunning views of Turnagain Arm.

Then from the parking lot you can take the wooden boardwalk that winds 1,550 feet from the parking lot to the marsh across water and sedges. The Imaginarium Discovery Center is a hands-on science discovery center for families and children to enjoy, play and learn. It's the perfect place to explore as a family, learn about art, history and science, try hands-on experiences and see interactive exhibits.

You will find the Point Woronzof Park, situated close to the Anchorage International Airport. This location is a great spot to get a view of the Cook Inlet, as well as the sunset. You may even spot some bald eagles, ravens, bank swallows and moose.

You are most likely to spot Bald Eagle nests on the southern end of the road that is nearest to the airport runway, or a short distance south of Point Woronzof. Instead of entering the corporate world, Rod Hancock and Matt Jones decided to join forces and create the Moose's Tooth Pub and Pizzeria. The 30-table restaurant provides a place for those looking to unwind, enjoy great pizza and good beer. Even though the two men were warned about the location they chose, they moved ahead with it and found success.
